For being in a podunk truck stop outside waco, tx, you can't get any better laos food south of dallas or north of austin. A little over salted, but the sausage is homemade, the sauces are homemade, and I hope this place sticks around. Spring rolls are good.
They made our order really fast. Good service. Inside is clean but its a truck stop so don't expect ambiance.
I'm critical when it comes to a good bowl of pho. I'm Viet and grew up eating Pho every weekend. If I legitimately did not want to wait 8 hours to make my own pot I would actually come here for Pho. There are Viet restaurants in Waco area that can't even make a bowl as good as this. The prices are a bit steep for a bowl but they make up for it with the bits of beef they put in it. I would have to say this is the best Pho in Waco but that's not saying much since the bar is low.
Eggrolls have crunch and lots of rice noodles? not to much meat inside almost think it was vegetarian but I'm not hating on it as flavors were there and wouldn't hesitate to order it again.
Crispy Pork Belly with sticky rice. Yo this is fire. Really legit and most likely be a repeat for the future visits. It's probably because of this dish I will be coming back.
I lost all hope for Asian food since I moved here to Waco but this place has really open that hope back up for me and it's good for the area. It's in the Chevron Gas station and you can get drink next door to drink with your meal but the drinks aren't cold.
It's a solid 5 Waco Stars
2 days later update: I really wanted to get some Laos Sausage but was unable to because they ran out. So I subbed for the BBQ ribs which came with an egg. Then Papaya Salad that had some fried crunchy chicharrons and a side order of fried rice. Everything I had was A-Mazing!! Who ever is cooking this food knows what they are doing. There is a passion for great tasting food from the Kitchen here.
A Taste of Laos is the place to be! Food is beyond delicious, and the service is amazing! We started of getting eggrolls until I was introduced to the spicy noodles! Omgggg that’s definitely a favorite lol I’m there Atleast once a week either alone or I bring someone with me so they can try the flavorful variety of foods 🫶🏻 20/10 most definitely recommend!
I would give this restaurant a 7 out of 10. I've tried the egg rolls, chicken fried rice, BBQ ribs with rice & egg, and the chicken spicy noodles with egg. I ordered my food with out cilantro- most of the items on the menu have cilantro. My favorite by far are the BBQ ribs! The flavors are mild, the spicy noodles weren't too hot but you could definitely make them hotter if you'd like. Can't wait to try more
Best egg rolls hands down. Very authentic dishes with great size portions. Someone recommended the Chai Tea, & it did not disappoint.
