I loved the atmosphere! The food I got was only decent though. The car garage theme was great, and the music to match, extremely well done! I got the chicken fried steak, and it wasn't bad, but not good either, just a bit bland and the gravy had no flavor. The deserts however were tasty.
I can see why this is a recommended stop for sure, however I will probably only come this once.
Stopped in during spring break on our way home from Dallas. Everywhere we went was crowded, so we were fortunate to get seated right away at Jake's before it got really busy. The decor is very retro and festive, there were lots of families there, and the staff we dealt with were very friendly. We got the chicken fried steak, which is a very generous portion, and it was delicious, fried just right! The mashed potatoes and green beans were good, not spectacular, just average. The fries were very good, of the hand cut variety. We also got the quiche of the day, with chicken and broccoli, also delicious. The tea was good and sweet, the way I like it. All in all a pleasant dining experience. Glad we dropped by!!
When you go in or you see parts of the front of a car and the back of a car and all kind of old signs and license plates and just different stuff from back in the day brings back a lot of good memories. Their food is really good I highly recommend them. Their service is above most places almost all the time. This is a great place to go and eat my wife and I love going here. And we will continue to go back.
