Every place in town is trying to recreate what Nathan has done at In The Woods with his BBQ. The meats are fantastic and the sides are worthy of a meal in themselves. The presentation is on point and Nathan will take good care of you. My husband and I enjoyed a great conversation with Nathan and his daughter as well. A wonderful experience. Easy to get to, good parking, and the best BBQ!! I highly recommend.
I am a born and raised Texas girl. I've been eating barbecue since I was just a bluebonnet baby.
When I tell you this is - without contest - the absolute BEST barbecue I have ever had in my life, please know it's no exaggeration.
This is worth the drive, it's worth eating outside or in your car (our kids were asleep, so we ate in the car), it's phenomenal food. Also, they're so nice! Very different feeling than a different nearby restaurant.
Anyway, TLDR; Go spend your money here. I will reimburse you if you thought it was bad BBQ. Because there's no way.
The BBQ here is great and the service is fast and friendly, if you like a good bark on your Q this is the place to go. Don't fall for the tourist traps downtown that overcharge and underweigh. Make the 5 minute trip to this store for some mouth watering meats, you'll be glad you did. (Chicken and Ribs pictured)
Best BBQ in the city, meat is absolutely tender. The bark on the brisket is a work of art, and the smoked sausage has great smokey flavor. Can't wait to go back for more. Black family-owned business
As a young man who works numerous hours of over time I can say out of honesty this place provides food and service that very few can experience. The quality and food speaks for itself and in my amateur opinion when It comes to BBQ I can say with confidence this is the best BBQ in Waco. The only problem I had was the that the meat was so tender it fell of the fork. 10/10 comfort food...
