The Garlic Press is a nice little restaurant to enjoy a different type of food and flavor! We enjoy heading to the GP for our Anniversary Dinner choice. Theres always something on the menu we want to try or love. Never a disappointment for us! Today we started out with Calamari and the bread. Great taste! For our main course we had the Ribeye Steak and Halibut Dinners. The Yams and the Risotto Cakes are delicious! Do not skip out on dessert! Our all time fave is the Creme Brûlée but today we decided to order a Flourless Chocolate Cake and a Cinnamon Roll Bread Pudding to go. Amazing!!! Yes...I forgot to take a picture of the meal but here is the best part!
We've heard good things about this place since we've come to Midland, and I'm actually pretty impressed with Garlic Press. All the staff were very nice and attentive, we came during dinner rush on a Saturday and our waiter never missed a beat. Everything came out at a good time. Everything we ordered was very fresh, well seasoned and constructed. Scallops were cooked perfectly, and delicious. Risotto was out of this world. The banana pudding cheesecake was hands down one of the best cheesecake I've ever had. The only things that we didn't like were just preference things, but everything down to the flavored oil and bread tasted great. They even had really good water. and yeah it's expensive... But I'd say it's worth it for a special occasion. Look forward to coming back and trying more of the menu.
Edit: their brunch is fantastic too!
Let me tell you about this place! We went in with a party of 22. They were very transparent they are short staffed like the rest of America is at this point in 2022. Mason was our server for ALL of us and he was absolutely amazing. He was on top of our drinks, appetizers, and entrees. He never let a glass go dry and made sure all the food was prepared perfectly, even the ones with special requests. Mason is a gem in the service industry and they are lucky to have him. Now the food: the Brussels and calamari appetizer may be some of the best I have ever had. The snook fish entree was cooked to perfection and the vegetables that came with it were the perfect amount of crisp and flavor blends. Others in our party bragged about the rib-eye, filet, veal and salmon. Not one entree was over cooked and all came out beautifully. If you are in Midland, this is a must try! Service and food were 10/10
Excellent local place to dine. We were passing through on the 10 and stopped for dinner. Really great steaks, bread& wine selection. We will be back.
