Charlee's Chicken

We stopped in last night on a whim…they had a great band that lured us from the street. What an amazing surprise!!! We ordered a burger, and asked for celery and carrots in the side (I’m a weirdo)…the burger was a jalapeño version…it came out and was legit perfect! The meat was tasty and perfectly crusted, fresh jalapeños, yummy meaty cheese…all HOT and with fresh veggies and homemade ranch…

I know it’s just a burger! But it’s hard to find a GOOD one that isn’t overdone, this was it…served with delicious mixed drinks!

Service at the bar was also great, the bartender was a young girl who was professional, knowledgeable and fast, even on a busy night!

Don’t sleep on this place Amarillo, it’s so good!

Well i meant to take a picture of my BBQ Gouda burger and sweet potato fries but got too excited and ate the whole thing before i remembered. Service and atmosphere were also great thanks Sarah. I’ll be back!

This was our first time and we loved it! Food was hot, fresh and delicious. We had the sampler appetizer and I had the chicken strips and the hubby had the steak fingers and they were super good. Sarah was the best waitress and kept our drinks full. We will definitely be back!

Mark it PEOPLE. This is officially week #2 of the Amarillo Happy Hour Tour. Which also marks a second Friday that I put my eyelashes on before going to work.

On the book of the faces I saw that Charlee's was going to be having live music starting at 7 which intrigued me. Because if there's something you should know about me it's that I love live music. So while I may not stay for the live music, I figure I should patronize a place that hosts live music for the night I'm wanting to go out and see some.

And that's what brings me here to Charlee's. I was able to park in front. Not because there was space on the street but because I take after my Mom, longtime Yelp Elitist Carla C. , and can parallel park to within an inch of my life. After pulling up I walk in and as I do that I'm assaulted by a customer spitting in the outside vestibule as he leaves. Which, gross, but what it did was make me look at the ground around the entrance. It could do with a regular power wash. I decide to go in anyways.

Not too busy at 4pm. Only 6 people at the bar and two bartenders. I order a gin and soda. It's good. Not weak, not strong, it's goldilocks. After looking at the menu the bartender let me know that single veggie small bites like, fried okra, fried jalapeno, fried pickles, etc were $3 for happy hour. How great is that?! I went for the jalapeños, duh. I was not disappointed. The oil didn't taste old and the dish was hot.

They also have happy hour drinks. $2 domestics and wells. The bartender also says on Thursday it's $3 you call it.

Oh, and I didn't mention all the TV'S!!! I hope they are open for the Superbowl!

Charlee's is a happy surprise and it's in my neighborhood. I'll be back.

My first time at Charlee’s Chicken and I will definitely be going back with friends. The rotisserie chicken was delicious and I was impressed by the way they fried the whole piece of okra. The bread pudding with ice cream on top was excellent. The owner and staff were very friendly and professional. Thank you so much ❤️
