Definitely the best steakhouse I’ve ever been to.
🍞 The bread tastes so great!
🥩 The steak, (oh my God I’m totally not the kind of person that loves steak) but the steak in big Texan is extremely delicious! The texture is amazing and the flavor is awesome. Except for the cool temperatures, it’s absolutely a perfect steak.
There’s a man singing country music with guitar, which creates a great atmosphere.
Next to the gift shop is a shooting game place which is really great, we have a good time there.
It’s so sad that we didn’t meet a 72oz challenger, or it would be exciting.
🔺The business is good, so remember to book a seat or arrive early.
My daughter and I were traveling through Amarillo on a road trip and this was the perfect place to stop for lunch! We love RT 66 and this was the perfect 66 roadside attraction. The entire place has the ambiance of an old school attraction with fortune teller machines, pressed pennies, lots of places to take photos and a really awesome gift shop. The food was absolutely delicious! Best rolls and baked potato I've had in a very long time. The chicken sandwich was also fabulous! Highly recommend for a fun stop!
It was about a 30 minute wait to be seated but you can play games, have a drink at the bar, walk the patio or visit the gift shop, so it actually wasn’t too bad.
We were seated upstairs and had a great view of the restaurant, and cooks, as well as the raised center for those willing to take on the 72oz challenge.
I started off with some fried pickles and then got the 8oz center cut with cheesy broccoli and a Cesar salad, which was VERY filling. I didn’t get to try any dessert but they have quite a bit to choose from.
All in all, a great experience, awesome atmosphere, friendly servers, and top notch food. Definitely stop and try if you’re in the area.
This is listed as a place you have to stop to eat if you are near there. It did not disappoint! The steaks were big and delicious. The sides were also good, but the desserts are amazing. We took our 4 layer slices of carrot cake and chocolate cake to go. These pieces of cake are HUGE and very good. There is something for everyone - live music, ice cream, gift shop, brewery and games in addition to the restaurant. We enjoyed it very much!
It was a pleasant experience! The dining atmosphere was very home like. We went as a very big group and one of the guys in charge I assume didn't seen too pleased. None the less they did manage to seat us together. The wait staff was very friendly and patient with our group. The food was delicious and worth the trip. Thank you to the guy who plays his guitar and sang for us Friends in Low Places. It turned out to be great time and I would definitely go again.
