The Historic Leakey Inn

Nice place and friendly people, but follow-up lacking. We were looking forward to a warm room and a hot shower, but were disappointed by our room. The hot water in the shower lasted about 2 minutes and the heater was so loud, it was difficult to talk or sleep. I let staff know about these issues when we left. I even received an automated thank you email asking to direct comments to them rather through a bad review. Sadly, I received no response and resigned to leaving a lukewarm review.

Friendly and accommodating family-run spot, motorcycle-friendly, and perfectly situated for exploring the great surrounding roads. Our cabin was clean, comfortable and well-equipped with the basics. The food was a cut above standard bar fare, and both food and bar prices were very reasonable. The Friday night live music was outstanding and the place was packed with what seemed like a perfect mix of locals and outsiders, and had a great vibe. Look forward to another visit.

My wife and I called Leakey Inn to inquire about vacancy and made a last minute reservation while on the road in the Hill Country of Texas. From that initial conversation with the person who took the reservation (turned out to be Dallas)…I knew we were going to have a pleasant stay. Dallas’ kindness easily flowed through the phone call.

We were a couple of hours away…on our maiden road-trip in a Tesla…quickly running out of juice…with the only superchargers detours away…and midnight drawing near.
After futilely attempting to charge up at a Chargepoint station…our only hope was that the Leakey Inn would somehow have an outlet close enough to reach the car…and that we would have permission to utilize it through the night. No problem at all!

From the moment we checked-in at the front desk (the cutest gift shop / bar & grill)…we were greeted with the most hospitable smiles and welcome from this family-run business.

After briefly explaining our car situation…Dallas, and hubby Brad, were more than willing to allow us to do whatever we needed to charge up the car…even unplugging something to make room for us to use the outlet!

If you’re looking for a comfortable stay being treated like family…this is it!
My wife and I look nothing like Dallas and Brad…but we definitely felt like family.

p.s. Oh…and the food at the bar & grill was very good (I wanted to try everything)…and the outdoor rustic bar area looked like so much fun to hangout at. Just wish we had more time there.
Might have to move to Leakey someday…but will definitely be back when in the Texas Hill country again!

It's the perfect place to stay in Leakey, Texas! We came to ride the Three Twisted Sisters and could not have picked a better place. Dallas and her family are warm and welcoming, including their dog Max! They have a bar and restaurant on site, and our dinner was absolutely delicious! I also love their gift shop! Highly recommend! 😁

Could not find a place to stay anywhere near Concan where we are working and ran across The Historic Leaky Inn just a few miles down the road. The owners are extremely kind and treated us just like family. Greeted us at the door, had the key ready, room was clean, A/C was over the top cold. Made a second reservation and had to modify it at the last minute and they came thru with a very satisfactory solution. I will recommend and will be staying here again!!
