Delicious and perfect. My meal took a bit long, but was totally worth the wait! Only complaint was the bread they give (free I might add) was stale, but I cannot fault them for that, especially since the reason is other patrons kept leaving the bread container open! Gah!
Let me start by saying, my wife and I enjoyed our visit as always, the service was prompt and polite. The food was tasty, but there were a few things I would point out that would have made the meal outstanding. The cranberry pecan salad was good, but was a bit over dressed. And the mushroom sauce for the friand had broken, but was still tasty. Otherwise, the visit was what we have come to expect from Le Madeleine.
Food is always fresh and delicious. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Only critique is that dishes are never the same twice. I order the same field greens salad and it's always different. The tomato bisque is always good though. Very creamy and tangy. And who doesn't want to take home some lemon madelines.
The food was good as usual, however; the cashier was somewhat tacky. No smiles, no friendly greeting & she charged me $3.00 for a refill for regular coffee. I had already paid for a cup of coffee. I asked if she had overcharged for a refill? She said I could pay it or not have coffee. She is a real sweetie pie, huh? Go for the food and stay for the floor show at the register. One woman came to the register & asked for a to go cup. She told her no that she didn't pay the surcharge for using 2 cups. That is the type of person you can have fun with by doing just a few of the little things. Like the free bread, butter & jam & jelly. Skip eating it there just put it in a to go box and leave. Watch her face turn pink, red, orange & then purple.
Very nice decor sets the mood here.
I came to pick up pastries for a celebration. Of course I had to sample a couple small treats with a hot cup of French Roast coffee!
The small fresh fruit tart comes in a commercial dough cup, a bit hard to the bite, but the fruit & creme were delicious. Oatmeal raisin pecan cookie was great. The coffee was perfect.
Late night diners were finishing meals and chatting with classical music filling the air.
There are outside tables also.
Staff was pleasant & helpful.
This is in the shopping center along the southside of I-30 off the Frontage Road.
