Stanley’s Famous Pit Bar-B-Q

This place is so good. I was in town for work and stopped here for dinner one night and was not disappointed. I had Stanley's Brother in law sandwich. The brisket was flavorful and the hot link was also very good. I'm usually very picky about bbq sauce but there's was one of my favorites. If you're in the area, it's worth the stop.

We love this place! We always get great service and the meat is so good. We started with the brisket and loved it and then got chicken and were amazing and then the ribs were super delicious! Stanley’s has won several cooking contests and awards over the years. The ribs are particularly good and serving portions are large. It is viewed as the number one BBQ Restaurant in town by most people. Go early at lunch, sometimes the run out of certain items. Independently family owned and operated, it is an icon in Tyler. Live music on weekends. Indoor or outdoor dining available.

Stanley's is excellent. I had the chopped brisket, which was really good but I personally liked the presentation of the sliced brisket better. The sauce is on the side and a combination of sweet and smokey. The ribs were also very good. Out of the sides the beans were my favorite, they were savory and smokey. Overall Stanley's is a great BBQ place.

I had the 2 meat plate w beans, potato salad, & Cole slaw. The meat portions were small: 3 little ribs about 3 inches long each. The 3 inches brisket slices had loads of fat that was a waste because I trimmed it off the brisket before I ate it. The smoke flavor in the meats was good. But one of the tiny ribs was char burnt & inedible. The brisket was tender. Coleslaw-- too dry-- no carrots or other veggies in it. Not creamy. Beans: lackluster in flavor. Potato salad: fair, but needed more herbs to season. Service: very good. However I will not be eating there again.

BBQ was GREAT- fantastic service and short wait times - can get 3 sides with the 2 meat plates. AND pickles.

I put 4 stars instead of 5 because I felt the portion size compared with price is slightly lower than other places around.

With that said - is you want fantastic BBQ this is a great place!
