Good food, friendly staff. Pricey, small menu.
My son and I had lunch today and it was very good. We split raw oysters and they were fresh, cold and very delish! Of course this is East Texas and not the gulf. We also split a crab cake that was very nice with a shrimp creole type of sauce. I ordered the Chicken and Sausage Gumbo that was not what I expected ...it was more of a chili than gumbo base. The prices were not high and service was good. We are very picky about food and service since we have owned and managed several restaurants. We would eat there again.
Crawfish is great!!! They have no clue on how to make frog legs they were rubbery but did make good fish bait later that evening. Overall not bad.
I love Cajun, I love seafood. I wish I could love this place more. This is another "crap shoot" place. The value is good, the service, the location, the atmosphere ...all great. The problem is teh food. It can be perfect or it can be bad (ex., ice cold gumbo). There is no in-between and there is no consistency.
