Super cool atmosphere! Beautiful inside and outside! TVs thrpughout too for sport watchers. Kiddos welcome but no kids menu as a heads up. Pups welcome on the patio. Saw a complete range of people and ages. Price point for menu is accurate for quality of food and location. Staff was super friendly and helpful too. My husband has a lethal peanut allergy and though there are dishes that include peanuts, they were great about suggesting what he could eat and that they are very strict about cross contamination. Food was super yummy and excited to go back and try one of their rice bowls! The salmon dish was our fave out of what we got. They do have a happy hour during the week but not sure what the deals ate as we went on a Saturday.
Beautiful atmosphere, but the vegetarian options were pretty underwhelming.
BRISKET SANDWICH
My boyfriend loved the brisket sandwich. He said it was flawless.
CABBAGE SALAD
Cabbage salad was excellent. Reminded me of a lightened-up asian, fancied-up coleslaw. It had that familiar slight sweetness minus the dreaded mayo. I appreciated the different manipulations the cabbage had in this dish (cooked and raw).
TOFU RICE BOWL
Tofu rice bowl was a no go in my book. It's was overall very dry. To me, it just felt like a "wannabe cool" bowl of rice that really should've been ordered as a side. I wouldn't consider this a proper meal by any stretch of the imagination. This needed way more components (rather than just some dry/crunchy garnishes on top with a couple of handful of tofu cubes). The flavor of the tofu was perfect, but the dryness did not balance well with the dryness of the coconut scented rice nor the dryness of the toppings. The green sauce on the side didn't make up for the dryness.
I would've appreciated more of a creamier texture to the coconut rice to offset the dryness of the tofu or even more of a hydrating, water-rich vegetable. Dry + Dry = Not my favorite.
This place was great! The lady behind the bar recommended the smoked salmon meat entree and it was delicious! My friends have the brisket and that was delicious as well. The whole ambience of this place is very unique and welcoming. It's a place for everyone to come to, have a great time, and eat delicious food.
Decided to stop by before heading out of Austin and I didn’t regret it! The place has a very nice back patio feel and the staff was very helpful and nice. I got the smoked brisket sandwich and it was delicious! Tried the corn fritters and the pork sausage sandwich as well. Everything had a great flavor. Would definitely recommend to anyone!
The food at here was what I had hoped...good! The atmosphere or the patio was awesome and the inside was not too bad just a little noisy. The only negative I have is the style of service. You order at the bar and seat yourself at a table and they bring your food when it's ready (and not all at the same time). You get your own drinks too. So it's basically fast food minus the fast part. I really love the food but the culture of service needs some work. No one was very friendly here or helpful except the lady working around the patio. Otherwise I was a little disappointed to not have service that matches the food. You can totally have casual service in a bar but maybe coach the staff on being more hospitable and friendly. It wouldn't hurt to smile, especially if 18 to 20 percent tips are expected.
