Oakwood BBQ & Beer Garden

The brisket is delicious but this place didn't stop there - all of the components are high-quality and yummy. My chopped sandwich was on great bread and had homemade, sweet & tangy pickles. The beans are semi-sweet and filled with brisket chunks. I love it when you can get another serving of brisket by ordering a side of beans. Well worth stopping in when you're driving down 35.

Tasty, good quality, nice place. A bit slow on service. (Counter order, 20 minutes before food came out). Good sandwich, nice bread.

Totally unexpected and unassuming place! We had The Herd sandwich, it was an amazing combination of an excellent sausage, perfectly cooked pulled pork, and perfectly cooked brisket. It also had a light sweet BBQ sauce, coleslaw, and crispy onions on a buttered and toasted bun. Yum! We will definitely be back for more.

Very cool and wet Sunday afternoon and my oldest daughter says she is hungry for Oakland BBQ. So all 4 of us change for the cold weather and head over. Location is great and the set up is cool with indoor and outdoor seating. We quickly review the menu and decide on pulled pork and brisket along with mac and cheese and green beans. Grabbed a table and the hostess brought our beers (great prices relative to those at the breweries) and we chat about lots of nothing until the food comes. Pork was great, beans were really good and the brisket and mac and cheese were tasty. We took our time enjoying the meal and talking about how close it is to the house and how the whole area is changing. We finished and cleaned up our table to help the staff for which they thanked us. Great local place with lots of upside potential going forward. Try it and you will see this is one to enjoy with friends and groups.
