Steak 'n Shake

Update 3/13: apparently the staff is not always kind- just did drive through and the person on the mic was rude. Im sure she was just tired (11 pm) but she kept cutting me off and giving me a bad attitude. The wait was as long as usual and food was fresh.

The shakes and burgers are great. The staff is always kind and personable, although it sometimes takes longer than it should for the food to arrive. I recommend the drive thru if you’re in a hurry. As far as fast food goes in this area, this is the place to go if you want an affordable diner meal and have a little extra time on your hands.
Also, check your mail as they send out great coupons frequently.

My family swore this place off back when I was in high school. 10 years later they must of changed something because it was amazing compared to back then. Onion rings...amazing! Banana shake...amazing! Being able to use 2 coupons for one order...amazing!

Food made fresh when you order. Mushroom Swiss burger was pretty good. It just needed a little more zing to it...maybe ketchup or sandwich spread. Restaurant was clean as far as I could see, although the restroom needed a touch-up. Great customer service, though. We came, needing our food to be done in a timely manner due to my other half being on the clock. Surprisingly, they had everything done in no time. And it's a good thing that they have Lifesavers for sale at the counter, only two for $1.00.
Restaurant in a great location- can see from I-35, which is close to Walmart and other stores.
