Bulevar Mexican Kitchen

Any chance to eat elevated Hispanic food is a good one and I had high hopes coming here after having been to their sister restaurant ATX Cocina, yet I couldn’t help but feel that they missed the mark a bit more than I would’ve thought:
- Carne Asada was way too salty and we mentioned this to the server andddd nothing came of that - though the char flavor was fantastic
- These were crispy on the outside which is fine in itself, yet the menu didn’t mention this as I would’ve preferred the corn tortillas to be soft
- Mixto Pibil was good, but nothing special though for $36 I had higher expectations

Though not everything was bad, their Borracho Snapper and Sope Del Fuego dishes were easy 10/10s. They even had this boozy off-menu horchata you can order and I was shook with how good it was.

Interior is pretty nice and I do like the low-lit ambiance.

Normally I’d give them a 4/5, but the service I received was just so bad and so slow. Took about 20+ minutes just to order drinks!

So with that said, I must give a 3/5, but perhaps if I come back I could give them another chance to re-evaluate because there is a lot of potential here.

Made it to Bulevar for the very first time tonight and it did not disappoint! Great ambiance, friendly staff, yummy food, and beautiful interior displays…what else can you ask for?

The entrance is beautifully designed and I like how they have several high tops near the entrance - perfect spots for drinks while you wait for the table. We arrived around 6pm on a weekday and the restaurant was half full. We made a reservation and got a nice indoor spot with stunning sunset view.

Drinks menu is impressive - I was surprised to find how many tequila/mezcal options they have in the menu. Cocktail list was great too!

Food-wise, we love EVERYTHING we ordered, from appetizers to entrees (and yes, we were too full to have dessert so saved that for next time), every dish was so flavorful and delicious. The crab meat guacamole was one of the best I’ve ever had. The wagyu steak screwer + green pepper grilled cheese was exceptional…and the half chicken we ordered was the best di the night!! The purée was super yummy and I highly recommend 😋.

Can’t wait to go back and try other stuffs on the menu!

I’ve been wanting to go to Bulevar and luckily I had the chance to even though it’s definitely a spot just for special occasions given the high price point. The interior is gorgeous with expansive views of the Austin hills outside. As for the food, it seems all for presentation and show, but the food itself is average once you take that “glam” away. The entrees also came out at different times, which for a high scale restaurant you wouldn’t expect a long wait in between dishes. I would come back here for happy hour at the bar next as I did enjoy my cocktail. I definitely recommend getting the street corn & churros!

Absolutely loves this place! Awesome vibe, delicious food, and upscale staff. Our server Gregory was a white cloth worker and knew the menu front to back. Super friendly and went all out for us. The food was also out of this world! Oh also, what a view of the hills and the sunset.

Gave this place a try because my family loves ATXCocina. Very delighted that we did as it’s now one of our favorites.

The crab tostada, pork belly tacos, salsa tasting, and carnitas are absolutely fantastic. Drinks were tasty and different - wide range and variety of tequilas.

Happy hour most days on the patio with some good deals. Great spot to come meet up with friends for drinks and food!
