Super good. Food that makes you feel good about life.Shout out to fellow students---I tried this place (sober) on a whim and was completely satisfied. I think if I was drunk it would have been something like an out-of-body experience. First time having a garbage plate, tried both the cheeseburger and the chili dog plates. Get what sides sound good to you, don't be afraid to mix the plate around, I think it will all taste good no matter how you eat it. Big portions, and the tastiness (didn't expect all-beef hotdogs, wow) means you can--and should--eat half sober, then drink up, then eat the next half. Otherwise you'll be full and, yes, it's hard to stop eating it, but give it the treatment it deserves. It's like food Kama Sutra.
For me it hits all the markers for great drunk food: meaty, saucy, a little spicy, and a lot of it, without a care in the world about what you think. That's also how I might describe the drunk me as well, so it works I guess. Got The Texan: beef and pulled pork over macaroni salad and baked beans, with onions, mustard and good portion of French bread to soak up them juices. It is a box full of food, and very well priced for the amount you get. Seriously, I'm a card carrying member of the clean plate club, and couldn't put the whole thing away. It ain't escargot and it ain't caviar, but I'd much rather have a garbage plate than snails and fish eggs, no matter how fancy that makes me.
The baked beans, and macaroni salad surprisingly work well as the base, adding a tangy sweetness that really complements the meat and sauce, which has a nice heat and a pop of curry that I just love. Tasty beef and pulled pork, and the diced onions added a nice crunch. All of the individual flavors really tie in together with the sauce, which brings it all home. At times it kinda reminded me of a chili mac, for those who know. Going back soon!
An upstate NY delicacy, the garbage plate. Great quality food, great owner, and a wonderfully full stomach after downing one of these huge garbage plates. Will definitely be back for more!
Got the garbage cheese burger... freaking awesome! Dont let the look/name of anything deter you, the combination is freaking amazing! Couldn’t eat it all! A must try!
If you are hungry you will not find a better place than this for a $10 mountain of satisfaction. Authentic NY style garbage plates go great with a Mexican coke!
