Fairmont Austin

I booked this hotel for my boyfriends 30th birthday and it was outstanding. We arrived before check-in and we’re able to get into a room anyway. We went to the pool and the one thing to note is to get buckets for beer, we spent $20 on two beers before we realized we could get a bucket of 6 for $35. When it was time to check out they held our bags for no cost until we left for the airport that night. Lastly, the lobby smells absolutely amazing! I would highly recommend this hotel.

Great location right on the river walk. Walking distance to the convention center. Room was nice. If you want a fridge and microwave you will need to request ahead of time. Parking garage is attached to the hotel. Velvet was $50 per day and self park was $40.

The hotel was very nice and clean. Service was top notch, over all very happy with the stay.

I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 mainly because of their sneaky parking fees. If you want to use their garage it’s $44(?) per day, or you can do full service valet for $52(?) per day. They should be more transparent about these charges prior to booking otherwise your only other choice is street parking far from the hotel.

If you are staying overnight (or longer) in Austin, and your destination is downtown Austin, this is a really nice place to stay. It is right across from the Austin Convention Center. Many restaurants are easily within walking distance. Their customer service is great and in they have live, local musical entertainment in the lobby bar in the evening. The rooms are pleasant and the bed linens are great! Fluffy pillows and comforters!
Please take note: prices for their on-site restaurants are really expensive, however! (I'm sure that is true of most hotels now)
Valet parking is available and we got a choice of a room overlooking the pool or downtown Austin. Nice!

An amazing Hotel, minus the bed bug's, and the overpriced libations at the bar in the lobby. Great staff though, very accommodating...
