This place is phenomenal! I eat here about 3-4 times a week since I work nearby. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu but the French fries with meat are for sure my favorite. Really nice prices and it’s definitely quality food. If you love or work nearby I absolutely recommend you stop by!
Tired of waiting in line at the Don food truck next door, I saw this new halal food truck open up with amazing prices, so decided to try it out.
Got the combo (chicken and gyro) over rice, which only cost $8.50! It’s cheaper than most other food options around, and VERY filling.
First impressions - presentation is top-notch, with the rice, meat, and veggies filling up the container to the brim. Also came with extra sauce free of charge.
The chicken was juicy, well-seasoned, and tender. I could taste that it was freshly grilled on the flat top. It went really well with the white sauce.
The gyro was initially more finely chopped than I expected, but it helped the juices and flavors soak into the rice. Well seasoned, great tasting, and they actually chopped it off a fresh big spinning shawarma.
Rice was fresh, with a seasoning of turmeric and cumin - it did a great job soaking up all the juices and flavors.
Vegetables were crispy and fresh, with a welcome variety - lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and a pickle!
Having lived in New York, the home of the halal food truck, I found Gyro House far exceeding my expectations. Compared to other halal food around town, the quality and quantity is equal to or higher than Halal Bros, but Gyro House is far less expensive. The service is also very attentive and kind, which you can’t say about many other cheap spots. The only change I would ask for is the option to add pita bread on the side (usually costs $0.50-$1.00 extra at other spots).
I’ll be coming back regularly to try out the rest of the menu.
Gyro House provided such thoughtful service. We had the gyro (lamb), lamb and chicken rice bowl and falafel. The portions were HUGE (had enough for another meal), and the food was DELICIOUS! This was, hands down, the best we have had in the ATX. We look forward to our next visit!
This is the best Gyro, chicken and falafel I had ever ate in Austin, distinctive taste, cleanliness, and excellent service. Thank you. The meal was very delicious.??????????????
Very delicious food, I highly recommended because of the brilliant service provided by the staff.
