I was very impressed with how great the service and food was for a place so newly opened. We did go at a slightly slower time, but it’s first come first serve so make sure to account for that if you plan to come. Isaac the bartender was very helpful!
He introduced the menu, the drinks, and then helped us decide on the mini cocktail drinks served in a flight. Each one was well crafted and you can feel the thought put into them, and they are delicious and boozy.
I didn’t get food but me and my friend are already excited to come back and try the prime rib!
Murray’s is both welcoming and vibey, it gives off the New York pub vibe they are going for, think Dead Rabbit, PJ Clarke’s, etc. The transformation from Gourmands (RIP) is almost unrecognizable.
You seat yourself upon entry and there is a variety of formats for tables. We were able to snag two seats at the bar. The service was prompt, friendly and helpful.
Like in the name and decor, the menu pays homage to New York, with such things as Rockefeller oysters, corned beef, etc. I split a few things with a friend: the beef and cheddar, a salad, tagliatelle, & a side of brandied mushrooms. Everything was delicious — the beef and cheddar is served like a burger (our order influenced our neighbor to get it too), the pasta size was a very large portion, the salad was sizable, and those might be some of the best mushrooms I have ever had.
I will definitely be back soon to try more of the menu.
Absolutely loved Murray's! Great cocktails, food and and atmosphere! Probably the best Cosmo I've had in Austin! Started with the ham and cheese puffs (not what I envisioned, but good (my husband loved it). I had the fish and chips (fantastic) and hubs had the tavern burger (enjoyed it). Look forward to visiting again!
This place is precious and perfect. The atmosphere and decor are so cozy and thoughtful, makes you feel like you’re in a New York living room. I’m obsessed with the Broadway Joe Namath corner and the mini cocktails!!! We had the sweetest waitress, I think her name was Vivian? She helped us pick dishes we LOVED and made sure we were well taken care of. This will for sure be a regular spot for me.
We popped in to check out the latest spot near home and were very excited, it's really spacious and nicely furnished and the large bar & wait staff team seem really on the ball and run like a well oiled machine!
It was a Saturday night when we popped in shortly after they opened so it was a very busy and bustling, energetic atmosphere but a lil' too noisy for us at that point so we didn't stay too long. Had a couple of the mini December eggnog drinks from the bar, they were wonderful!
We'll definitely be back :)
