This place is MAGIC! Crazy good portions, great service, and the soup dumplings! Can we talk about the soup dumplings?! They're everything you never knew you wanted. Perfect size, explosive flavor! Also this place has the BEST lo mein, I wish I knew their secret but it's what keeps me coming back (2nd to the dim sum of course). The down side of making he best lo mein is that their fried rice is sub par but that's okay because noodles rule here. They also have walnut shrimp which is hard to find, it's a great dish! The menu is so big I haven't tried it all yet but most of the classics you know and love just sparkle here! Like the beef and CHINESE broccoli, small twist but a huge impact, I loved it. My mom orders wonton soup only to be pleasantly surprised that is was deluxe wonton with mushrooms, beef, shrimp, and chicken in addition to those yummy wontons. What made me certain it was fantastic was the take out test, the take out was just as good as having it live and that my friends matters! Especially when you take home fried food. Make sure you check it out live or take out you won't be disappointed.
This restaurant is huge! All the dishes are perfectly for 2 (and believe me I usually eat a lot). Prices are according to the food, they are very nice.
New Fortune Chinese is one of my favorite places to eat in Austin. My go to favorites are Shaky beef and salt and pepper shrimp, but I have never had anything that I didn't like. Saturday and Saturday lunch they have dim sum carts that come to your table if you have never tried it cool experience. I love to try new stuff on the huge menue...
We tried so many dishes and all were wonderful. Favorite was the soup dumpling and the Mongolian beef. My friend had the tso chicken and said it was the best she ever had! Atmosphere not very impressive but the wait staff was is so good you forget about the vibe.
A group of friends and I decided to try this place out. The reviews on Yelp were pretty good, so I thought I would add a review on Google. We had several of the Dim Dum options and they were all really good and fresh! The onion pancake was a little doughy and wish there had been more onions but I would get it again because the flavor was great. The dumplings and BBQ baos were soooo flavorful. We also tried a few of the dinner dishes below:
* Beef & Broccoli was great and the sauce was full of flavor
* Mongolian Beef was full of flavor but it could have been spicier (personal preference)
* General Tso Chicken - Was THE BEST I have had in a very long time...we are talking 10 years. If I go back for anything, it will be this dish!
I Recommend you give this place a try. The staff are super nice and also helpful with picking out Dim Sum that you would like and/or have questions about.
