This is the kind of food you didn't know you needed, but once you have it you can't imagine life without it.

From the perfect, spicy blend of Cajun spices, to the perfectly cooked meats, to the affordable, delicious cocktails; this place is a hit.

I highly recommend the blackened catfish, gumbo, and soft fried potatoes. Don't like catfish? Me either, but I LOVE this catfish.

If you're in Austin, you must go here. Now.

I got some takeout from Vic and Al's last weekend for my wife's birthday, and I have to say I was really impressed! When I arrived, I was greeted at the door by Ben, who introduced himself and told me a little about what the restaurant is about: Cajun food with a family atmosphere "where we can give you a little guff, but you give us a little guff right back." Ben introduced me to Trey, who began prepping my food for the takeout bag, and Nick, who was tending bar. As I stood for a very short wait for Trey to get the food all ready to go, Nick offered me a small tasting cup of one of their signature cocktails, the orange drink. Aside from it being delicious (it really is!), he told me about what they do to achieve the flavor profile of the drink. I was really blown away with the service and the impact it had on me, especially considering I was just a customer picking up a take out order, and felt welcome and comfortable. And I have to say, the food? Phenomenal. We got a blackened catfish po'boy, an order of green beans, red beans and rice, and potatoes. Everything was so flavorful, and tasted great/was still warm when I got home, a good 10-15 minute drive from the restaurant. We will be getting more food and drink from Vic and Al's, and I encourage you to as well!

I love this joint. The food is amazing, the staff is amazing, and it makes so much sense that it’s a sister restaurant to Patrizi’s across the street (also an awesome restaurant). Super friendly and genuine staff all around. The servers and the chefs were great. I had the special and it did not disappoint. I didn’t even know about this gem until recently but I’m super happy I grabbed some food and drinks once I did.

I ordered online and has a great time going to pickup at the location.

I was warmly welcomed by staff who sampled a cocktail to me and chatted about the establishment. Meanwhile the final touches were being put on my food made to my taste. The inside is gorgeous and the brunch menu looks great.

I got the catfish on greens. It's amazing! The "greens" are more of a chopped salad which does contain cheese although mentioned on the menu.

I also go the side of rice and beans which, in my opinion were purely sustenance. I can imagine that on another day, the beans are more flavorful and the rice is a better texture.

    Can't wait to go back!

During COVID they are serving at their 3 outdoor tables (that have umbrellas). We had a group of 5 celebrating an engagement and were treated to cocktail samples and dessert as a treat, adding to the accommodation they provided. We had delicious food, and got a peek at the stylish interior. The gumbo was amazing, as well as the fired chicken, orange drink, hurricane, corn, and fried bread pudding. We will definitely be back. The service was top notch!
