Schmidt Family Barbecue

I enjoyed my two meat plate of pork spare ribs and turkey with a side of potato salad and green beans. My son had a two meat plate also. His had brisket and a quarter sausage link. The sides were macaroni and pinto beans. He didn't like that the brisket was greasy and too moist. He didn't eat most it because of it. He also said the sausage link was to small for the price. He bought me dinner today for us both. $35 in total. I thought it was a great price for barbecue in Bee Cave for both of us, including drinks with souvenir cups. 02-09-19

Associated with the Lockheart Texas Schmidt family, which has two of the best barbecue places in central Texas. I had the Turkey, which was good, but not great; a bit dry, like most Turkey is due to lack of fat. Green beans were cooked just right.

Been here half a dozen times and only twice did I get the lean brisket I asked for. All other times it was laced with fat. It is tasty but wow the price is high for what you get! I keep them on my radar as it better than some other BBQ restaurants, but still just slightly better than middle of the road. I will say the staff has never been friendly, always blah and ready to just take my money.
