Very very good BBQ. Was worth the wait in line. They do a mustard based bbq sauce that I really enjoyed. On Saturday, they do beef ribs which are my favorite.
My chopped beef sandwich was DELICIOUS! Perfect pickles and savory sauce. My wife ordered a brisket plate and was given the option of lean or moist, nice. Wish I had room for desert because the cakes looked amazing!
Fourth time was the charm---first two times a very, very long line so we passed. Third time semi-long line, we got in, but after standing about 20 minutes someone came out, counted customers, stopped at us and said he couldn't guarantee there would be anything so we left. Fourth time we arrived 40 minutes before opening, were about #20 in line (slow!), bought 1 lb of ribs (*****), 1 lb of fatty brisket (*****), 1 lb of lean brisket (*****). Probably best pork ribs ever. The brisket was tender----fall apart with your fork tender, good smoke and spice---and Truth be known, the only way I could get mine that tender would be with sous vide.........
So very worth the effort and wait!! I saw it as a top BBQ spot in Texas a couple years ago, and because of location ordered for a group. The staff/owners we very friendly and helpful. Not a single item ordered disappointed...the meats were juicy, perfectly cooked, and flavorful. The sides were unique twists on traditional beans, slaw and potatoes salad, and that corn casserole....oh that corn casserole! Next time - I will add a slice of those mile high cakes!! Tip - order a few days ahead and skip the line that cues up out front before opening. Worth it!!
Brisket is so tender it falls apart with a fork. Sausage had a great flavor, sides and sauce were all fantastic. Staff was very friendly and whoever made the Italian cream cake knows what’s up.
