Green Mesquite BBQ - Round Rock

Went with a friend on recommendation. We pretty much had the place to ourselves. Wait staff was very friendly, good sense of humor and not overbearing. Ordered fried chicken with macaroni, mashed potatoes, and gravy. Some of the best I've had in a while. Only downside was the gravy was pretty generic. I'm legitimately surprised and disappointed at the lack of business this place is getting for how great an experience it was. I highly recommend a visit, they deserve more business.

I had a great experience with Green Mesquite. They were super friendly and very helpful on the decision making for our meals. They have a great variety if meats and so delicious. Nice country diner feel and lots of room. I will definitely return for some more of that wonderful BBQ.

This bar and BBQ joint was inviting and easy to find. The staff was engaging and courteous. I got a brisket plate special for dinner. I let the waiter recommend the cream corn for one side and I got Cajun rice for my other. The cream corn was in fact excellent. Had that delicious cream corn flavor without feeling overly sauced. The Cajun rice was passable. Unfortunately the brisket itself was poor quality. While there was a hint of flavor, for the most part it was a dry, tasteless meat. It was only slightly redeemed when I doused it with the "hot" BBQ sauce. Finally the dinner ended with a peach cobbler which was tasty but nothing special.

I had the barbecue chicken and it was good but wasn't particularly impressed. Their sides were excellent though and I would imagine that there other meats were pretty good as this place has a very good reputation. I will try again and eat in instead of take out and see if that makes any difference. Also try some of the other varied meats.
