Stopped in for lunch on a trip from Wyoming to Oregon. Hubby ordered a shrimp plate that he raved about. My petite filet mignon was cooked to perfection (I requested medium rare leaning more to the rare side) and was melt in your mouth delicious. Fresh sauteed vegetables were garden fresh and their homemade rolls were warm clouds of heaven with raspberry butter. Our waitress was a sweetheart and very attentive. We really were glad we decided to stop in to Maddox Ranch House for lunch.???
Excellent food and service! The shrimp steak is phenomenal, unlike anything anywhere else. Good home cooked style food. This is one of the few places that you can still make a reservation, which is so helpful, especially during COVID.
Just stopped at our favorite place to eat while heading north into Idaho from Salt Lake City. It is ALWAYS the best! BEST food, BEST service, BEST prices! I love their hamburgers and fries. My husband got a BLT today and loved it! I don't know how they make their fries but I wish I had the recipe! So crispy and not greasy. I'll be back.
My grandparents have been coming here for 50 years and they recently took me here for a birthday dinner. I was not surprised by the dates, rustic decor that makes you feel like your at a farm from the 1950s but was surprised at how busy it was upon arriving! It was a busy Saturday even with COVID and we made a reservation and were seated immediately. The rolls are AHH Mazing. They melt in your mouth, not going to lie I had 3. We got quite a lot of food for the price and our steaks were delicious, a little light on the salt, but very good. The only thing was that my husband ordered his steak medium and it came out pretty rare. They were quick to take it back and cook it longer for him. Very good food, all homemade and very tasty. The perfect spot to stop on a roadtrip.
We really enjoy dining at Maddox. It is a very clean establishment with amazing food. The rolls are so yummy they practically melt in your mouth. And for those who may be gluten fee try the corn bread YUM. The staff is super friendly and attentive.
On our latest visit we even saw a Bison. Who needs to go to Antelope Island when there are Bison practically in our back yard.
Highly recommend!
