I had heard The Pub (previously The Pastry Pub) had changed ownership and there had been some controversy amongst locals if it was still as good. I could tell there were some cosmetic upgrades, but it still felt like the same great local place I've always loved. The menu changed a bit, but again, still delicious as always. I loved the Cedar Salad (it was huge!), and my friend and I split a slice of raspberry donut cheesecake. So yummy! The Pub is a must-stop in Cedar City.
I have always loved coming here for lunch. I've gone in long enough to see its changes over the years, and it's gone from a tavern feel, to one that is more "homey" and brighter visually.
Everything I've gotten here has generally been fantastic. Although it isn't here currently from what I've seen, their veggie burger is BOMB and current options like their salads are delicious. Others with me who had sandwiches said they enjoyed their meal as well.
Some of their bakery options like their carrot cake were moist and yummy, but still left me with more to be desired, especially with how expensive those can be.
Overall, a great place to go with friends and family and eat some food that makes you feel happy inside.
I have to edit my review, the Pub has been one of my favorite places for 18+years. New management in the last year has changed the menu and raised the prices. It use to be this fantastic place that was so unique. It is so sad to see and taste the change. We would go out of our way to stop here. We tell everyone about it. The pastries, salads, sandwiches were one of a kind. I really can't recommend it again. We got a bunch of the salads, the seasonal special sandwiches and we tried a burger. The pastrami with coleslaw was the best thing, everything else was expensive and not great. I gave 3 stars for effort but I think we will pass. So sad! Come back Pastry Pub!!
We love the Pastry pub, it's part of the Shakespearean festival experience. Park at the theater and walk down the street to the pastry pub. When you're done with your wonderful meal, you can walk back down to the Green show and you'll already have a great parking spot.
They have wonderful salads, yummy breads and sandwiches. I bought a pecan coconut cookie this time that was delicious. Turns out it's gluten free. They even have a fabulous breakfast menu😄
I do wish they would stay open a little later, after the shows, so we could stop and get a treat.
