Without skimming through the reviews to see why, I really can’t understand how this location is rated at only a 3.9. I’ve only ever DoorDash’d this location - so the food isn’t gonna be as fresh as in-person - and yet it’s still easily the best hot chicken place in Utah. The chicken sandwich is just perfect. Perfectly cooked chicken thigh, perfect amount of breading and a perfect balance of flavor and ingredients. The tenders are juicy. The spice levels are accurate (unheard of in Utah) - I never order above medium and believe I was mistakenly given the level above that or the hottest once, and it meant business. And lastly, the fries are always consistent and perfectly cooked. Even when delivered 30-40 minutes after being cooked, they’re the perfect level of crispy for me.

So in short - as good as the original location and that’s not a bad thing. I’ve tried all the other places that have popped up in the valley and this spot has remained the benchmark.

I was truly looking forward to my dining experience at Pretty Bird after seeing Chef Pham on the Food network and hearing he had restaurants in the Salt Lake area. I was pleased with my chicken sandwich. it was yummy and sized well for the price. I also had the corn salad it was fresh and packed a lot of flavors. I will be going back again soon.

I have wanted to try this place for a long time and was so happy to see that they opened up a location in Midvale. I ordered the fried chicken sando. It was one of the juiciest chicken sandwiches I've ever had. I loved how moist it was; however, I am not a big fan of how sweet the chicken was. It was definitely all the good things a chicken sandwich should be. A great bun, the slaw and the pickles were perfect, the juiciness of the meat, the amount of meat (it's thick) was great, but the amount of sweetness that was added to the chicken was just a bit much for me. I do want to give it another try, but I also feel like it's a hefty price to pay for a chicken sandwich that I hope I'll like more the second time around. Aside from the sweetness of the chicken, everything else was superb.

The tips options start at 10% and there is a no tip option for those they complained in the past.

Solid chicken sand which with gigantic portion - perfectly crisp with pickle and slaw. Crispy fries. Beautiful outdoor eating area.

Chicken tender was huge. Perfect add on. Overall completely stuffed for $24.

Pretty Bird is absolutely one of the top Chicken Sandwiches In Salt Lake. A really easy 4.8/5. I'm actually baffled on the ratings it currently has (3.9). Please don't let that ruin it for you, it's WRONG.

Pretty Bird's Chicken Sandwich is a totally unique and one-of-a-kind flavor that can not be replicated anywhere else locally. It was created by a national renowned chef and incorporates Asiatic flavors, spices, and complex fresh sauces. They use chicken thigh which is always a huge portion, super juicy, and perfectly fried. I'm telling you, the spices used are an incredible combo on the breading. It's a flavor explosion, and again, so unique. The slaw adds the perfect crunchy texture with it, and the Pretty Bird Sauce has a lot of elements to it to give it a sweet and tangy flavor.

Start with Mild and work your way up, it gets HOT, but so good. Always get some level of spice though, otherwise you miss the main flavors. I always enjoy adding a plain chicken strip on the side to have and dip in all the fresh sauces.

The only thing that I see people complaining about is the price. You have to understand it's an impossible to replicate experience, it's all house-made fresh, and you'd be paying the same if not well over for a Dine-In experience sandwich after tip somewhere else. Love this restaurant and it is worth the price for me.
