I'm Japanese (born and raised), so I know Japanese food. This place does NOT make Japanese food. It's kind of like someone saying Taco Bell is Mexican food or Panda Express is Chinese food. Don't get me wrong. The food isn't bad, just not true Japanese food. Japanese food is about getting most out of ingredients without overpowering them. This place does the opposite. You are basically only tasting excess sauce and oil they add. Saturated. I can see how Americans would enjoy it because they tend to like stronger tastes and higher fat/sodium contents. I just wish they weren't making their food under the brand name of Japan as this is disgrace to true Japanese food. With that said, if I forget that they are claiming to be a Japanese restaurant at all and lower my expectation, their food is not horrible. That's why I gave at least 3 stars.
Very good food with generous portions. It's more like fast food dining. The price for the food was well worth it. I will eat here again.
Fresh ingredients, tasty food. Portions were big and service was fast. I’ll definitely be returning to try more things on their menu.
Came here a couple times years ago, and recently remembered what it was called after having a craving for sushi and not having a lot of extra cash. Very reasonable prices for the portion you get. I got the enso, and it was more than enough to split into two separate meals. Personally, it was a bit too spicy for my taste and I ended up adding extra soy sauce from my fridge to cut down the heat - but it was still delicious. The fact that you can get half rolls is a blessing when you want to try a variety of their roll options, and the tempura vegetables are top notch. Definitely not "traditional," by any means, but they definitely have some very interesting option (raspberry chicken seems like an usual offering, but it also sounds really good) Yoshi's is definitely a nice option to have; quick, cheap, and tasty for when you crave some interesting Japanese fare but don't want to spend a small fortune on sushi.
Been eating here for almost 8 years and never had a bad experience. Love the food. Lots of options from chicken and beef to sushi and tempura. Great place.
