Gourmandise The Bakery

Everything on their menu is excellent. From their entree salads, to their dinner entree specials. My favorite dessert here is the 'peach'. They have a pretty solid beer and wine list. One of my favorite things to order here is the blueberry grilled cheese. It's a grilled cheese sandwich with blueberry compote inside. It's not officially on the menu anymore, but you can ask the server to request it from the chefs, and often they are willing to make it.

Every time we put this restaurant into our GPS, it says "getting directions to Gorman-DIES" and we crack up.

Very kind, attentive and carefull Staff. They were all using masks, sanitizing constantly and made us feel very safe.

How shall I begin to describe the lovely establishment that is Gourmandise. I must confess that it was love at first bite. Gourmandise is a lovely little bakery in Salt Lake City with a wonderful array of European style foods and the most delicious baked goods (it's sinful how good their bakery is). You'll find that during brunch hours on the weekends it's pretty bustling with customers. During warmer weather, I would suggest their outdoor seating where you can enjoy some fresh air. The parking can be a bit crammed, but be aware that if you continue down the narrow parking lot to what at first appears to be a dead end, there is actually an opening to turn left and get out via E Broadway.

This is my favorite place to eat in Salt Lake. You can never go wrong. Every item on the menu is beyond delicious. And through the quarantine curbside, all employees were always wearing masks! SO professional. Thank you Gourmandise for getting me through 2020 ?

Puzzled by the number of raving reviews. Been to this place for friends birthdays, city wide dinner special menus and so on. Nothing special, sometimes bad - poorly executed dishes and below average pastries. Sometimes I ask, really SLC?! Are we really excited about this?? But I also know that other few pastry shops in the city are putting out excellent product every morning and people just don't know about it. So all and all, if you have a crowd + kids and just need to please everyone, take them here. Don't go here expecting quality pastry goods. Interesting to me that this place has higher rating than other pastry shops with superior pastry dough, perhaps because the customers are here for social gatherings and other fun activities with friends and family. Like I said, for that, this is a good place.
