You know how for some reason a sandwich always tastes better when someone else makes it? You know, you can use all the best ingredients to create an amazing sandwich, but if you made it yourself it somehow isn't quite as good as if someone else had made it for you. Let Village Baker make your sandwiches for you. Easily some of the best sandwiches you'll ever eat. Plenty of fresh bread variety (honey rye is ?) and fresh ingredients. Lots of other delicious items as well but if you love sandwiches and have not eaten here yet you are missing out.
Ordered the chicken salad sandwich based on another review. The flavor was extremely bland and reminded me of pre-packaged sandwiches at an airport. Struggled to eat the whole thing due to the bland off-putting taste (and I only ordered a half sandwich!).
My boyfriend ordered a small baker's choice pizza which is a "supreme" or combination type pizza. His dough wasn't cooked on the bottom- almost like they forgot to fully bake it?
The garlic bread sticks were pretty good, though the side of sauce is served cold instead of warm.
Overall, not pleased. We are both huge eaters and could hardly finish anything we ordered. Strange this place has such high star ratings!
We also sat at a table for dine in and it looks like they aren't wiping down any tables in between guests. And two of the food preparation people were chatting while preparing food with their masks pulled down.
The person who took our order also seemed to not be knowledgeable of what was on the menu which was also a bit odd...
Dined in on August 14th. Hope this review is helpful! I'd recommend going somewhere else!
Of note: we did say something to the manager about the pizza (as it was a large expense and inedible) and he was SUPER kind about it and refunded us. We normally never report bad food and it made us nervous to do so. I'd say that's the one good thing about the place was the manager was super kind and apologetic.
So good! The bread is thick and a perfect level of moisture. The sandwiches are expensive but they’re huge so it’s worth it.
The inside of the restaurant is cute
Some of the best baked bread you will find! We try to make our own at the house, and keep coming back to The Village Baker for at least one loaf a week! Kids love it toasted, and I like the menu items.
The breakfast sandwich, and the Open Face are the top choices for breakfast. They also have every variety of pizza available, and if it's not part of the menu you can do it as a specialty pizza. They also serve amazing soup each day, and it makes lunch super easy!
