Main Freeze

Good fast food. The taco salad is very good.

This has been about ten different places since I was a kid. The latest version "Main Freeze" was very good the servers were helpful and cheerful. This is always on my list when I am traveling through Gunnison.

Jillian was such a sweetheart, the girls here definitely do a great job with customer service. I tried the blue cheese bacon and got my boys the grilled cheese and a cheese burger. The blue cheese bacon burger was awesome, they seasoned the meat (rare around here) the slice of blue cheese was perfect, they used the good pickles that everyone likes more than the cheapo ones, the onion wasn't piled sky high and the tomato was pretty great! They use the thin lettuce but that didn't hurt the quality of the burger. The cheese burger was thicker than expected so my oldest was happy especially since they made it just how we wanted. Their grilled cheese is on wider bread so you get more bang for your buck. The curly fries, Piccadillys and coke were all top notch too. Coke was mc ds grade good. I feel they may have changed up their ingredients lately cause I don't remember it being this good. Yes they take a minute to get you your food but i invite you to find a place that's local and doesn't have a dozen people in the kitchen at once, that'll be irregularly fast. Highly recommend this place.

Stopped by for lunch when traveling through. My wife and I ordered the main freeze burger, fries, and homemade shakes. Reminded us of the food that we used to get growing up. Flavorful hamburger, huge portion of fries, best milkshake we've had in a while. Server was very pleasant. Dining area was very clean. Highly recommend.

You can walk up to the window, OR you can stay in your car and go the drive-through (which is little tough to tell, but it is on the north side). Great menu and diner style eating, but the really joy of Main Freeze is the ice cream/malts. They regularly have "not on the menu" items that are special varieties based on availability and season. My advice is do not pass on the special, and just go for it! They have never let me down!
