This place is incredible. If you’re wondering whether to give it a shot or not, let this be a resounding ‘yes’. This is one of those places where the food is the star. Our group ordered the banana/strawberry Nutella crepe, avocado toast, carnivore breakfast fries, Day ‘n’ Nite burger and the stuffed French toast. Everything was a hit and tasted amazing. I personally had the stuffed French toast and it was one of the best French toast dishes I’ve had in a long time; with a unique and artisanal spin. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back many times.
Edit: Returned and tried the Brown butter egg Benedict. I’ve never had a Benedict before as it seemed like something that would never appeal to me, but the chef Lorenzo recommended it. It was one of the best brunch dishes I’ve ever had. We sat at the bar and watched Lorenzo cook the whole meal. He is an incredible chef and extremely personable, chatting with us the whole time while he whipped up amazing dish after amazing dish. Both visits we started with the banana Nutella crêpe and added strawberries, and I’ll have to say it’s probably the best crêpe I’ve ever had. We also tried their hashbrowns, which are very atypical and unique and delicious, as well as the pulled pork breakfast burrito. It was amazing like everything else. I can confidently say that this is some of the best food in all of Heber City. They are starting a dinner menu soon and I’m excited to check it out. Don’t be fooled by the low-key appearance of the restaurant. Lorenzo was one of the head chefs over at Copper Onion in Salt Lake City, as well as Stein Erickson Lodge in Deer Valley and it shows. Once they’re more established they plan to remodel the interior, which, for some people will help, but for me, it’s all about the food and the people. I can say I’ve tried every single restaurant in Heber, and this one is top of the list. Also, Rudy the server is always on point and every bit is friendly. It’s no wonder this place is making waves without even having their sign out yet. Excited to try the whole menu. Raving fan.
Wow, what a shock this initial visit to Day 'N' Nite Bistro-Cafe was for me! I was not prepared to have such a delectable feast for my taste buds. Chef Lorenzo Bindrup has created some fabulous dishes, and I look forward to trying more of them in the future. The almond flour pancake and the browned butter eggs benedict were truly incredible. The eggs were cooked to perfection, which is a big deal for me. It was one of those meals that you just don't want to end, and you're almost mortified to see no bites left on your plate.
Do not judge this restaurant by its exterior...this place is a gem. The staff are so friendly and personable, and the chef himself let us in and seated us. Such kind and talented people!!! The entire experience was so much fun!!
We were greeted promptly and sat. The service was OK throughout our stay. They have nicely redone the Mexican place that was there before. They do have Coke fountain drinks, ask for extra ice. What we ordered may have been the problem. The biscuits and gravy were outright not good. Way too sweet and the biscuit was as dry as the Sahara. The eggs and hash-brown on the side were as expected. The brown butter eggs Benedict was way too strong of a brown butter flavor. If you absolutely love that, it might be for you. The overall experience was good, I hate having to hail a waiter down to ask for refills and ketchup, basic necessities for life. I would not pay that price for that food again.
Delicious food. Presentation was on point. Great Value. Had the smoked salmon eggs Benedict, traditional French toast and a strawberry crepe. No regrets. We love the Sundance Brunch. This is a great alternative at a good price.
Ordered the "Brown Butter" (tradition eggs benedict: hollandaise, egg, ham over an English muffin). As a bit of a food snob, eggs benedict is probably my all-time favorite breakfast meal. I couldn't resist. I don't really like to experiment with the fancy variations out there (salmon/lox, southern, etc.).
However; due to ordering just before closing and being only their second day open for their soft opening, they had accidentally put the order in as the "South of the Border." This is a southern twist of the classic favorite: pulled pork, cilantro, avocado chipotle hollandaise and pickled onion over a sope.
Right away I could tell something wasn't right as this definitely looked like carnitas, which I am just not a big fan of. When I had mentioned it, they knew right away there was a mistake with the order and offered to make a new one without charge, which I declined.
The presentation was not worthy of being sent back with the possibility of not knowing where it would have ended up. Facing my culinary fears that I rarely divert from, I decided to give my taste buds the true taste test. The ingredients really had a fusion of flavor that were wildly paired very well.
Hats off to the experienced chef behind the creative menu, that I would challenge the name Bistro in exchange for Gourmet. I'll be back for my "Brown Butter," lets make sure we get it right this time. ;)
