Great food! Always huge portions.
This location has had some high turn-over which has made it difficult to get consistency sometimes, especially on take-out orders.
Lately, I think things have been better and the food more consistent.
Breakfast served all day is a big draw. If you want a late brunch or breakfast for dinner, that's what they do here.
Environment is always relaxed and enjoyable.
Servers are fairly attentive. No one offered me a refill on my coffee this time, but there have been other times they are refilling me after practically every drink I take.
Diner fare and ambience are really fantastic and consistent with all the other black bears I have eaten at.
All in all, it's better than okay (3 stars), but not excellent (5 stars) - so they get 4 stars for pretty good all around.
Great place to bring the family after a day of hiking or just being out. The prices are reasonable and the food is good. Wait times are usually pretty quick as well, even on busy days
Pleasant enough restaurant & like the menu options. Service is generally pretty good. I just can't say the overall food quality merits 5 stars. About Village Inn or Chili's quality.
OK but not great.
This place is popular so expect to wait though usually not too long, about 20 mins on average. The service was friendly and attentive. The price is what you'll expect, not bad in my opinion. I tried the blackberry stuffed french toast and if you like basically a cross between a cinnamon roll with blackberry filling then you'll like this. It wasn't for me. I must say I did enjoy going there and will be happy to return again.
I traveled from upstate New York and was delighted to eat at the Black Bear Diner- 3 times. The prices were reasonable, food was good ( steak diner, BBQ dinner - the next night and large dessert) It's a family restaurant, clean and real comfort food. The college age wait staff was extremely friendly and seemed to care about if everything was okay during my visit. Coffee was very good for a chain restaurant. I look forward to return!
