Had 3 burgers and a prime rib sandwich. The service was great. The beer bread was delicious as usual. However, I wouldn't get a burger again. All 3 were dry and charred so it had a burnt taste. There wasn't much BBQ sauce on them which might had helped with the dryness.
Hug-Hes - no matter the location - will never disappoint you. Hug-Hes is that cafe that just gives back every time you go. It's particularly nostalgic for me, because I remember as a little girl going to Hug-Hes for the first time and thinking that it was the fanciest restaurant I had ever been to. The atmosphere (and the food) just have a classic timelessness to them that really just comes down to good food, good service and a warm inviting atmosphere.
Most meals come with their delicious beer bread with raspberry butter - which is something I don't want anyone to miss when you order. It's necessary to enjoy this as part of your experience at Hug-Hes. Trust me.
When doing takeout they're packing is plastic/Styrofoam and not zero/low waste. However, in their efforts to reduce waste they only offer plastic ware to anyone who asks for it, which I think is a step in the right direction to being more environmentally conscious.
Love Hug-Hes. Especially the salmon and the prime rib sandwich.
Ten out of ten would return. Good food, good service. The server is always there with some more water so you're always set! I just wish they'd ask if you want more water because it's kind of uncomfortable to get more water when it's still basically full.
This was my first visit to the restaurant. I went at the suggestion of family members. We're connected in. I ordered the Summer Salad. It was refreshing and quite filling. The complimentary bread was delicious. The waitress, Nikki, was attendant and very friendly. Thank you for a great experience.
