1824 House Inn + Barn

We had an excellent stay here. Everything was immaculately maintained and spotlessly clean. Breakfast selections were plentiful, and everything we tried was delicious. The hosts (Sean and Farrell) were friendly, accommodating, readily available, and extremely knowledgeable about the area. The bedding and pillows were plush and luxurious. So many nice touches and forethought into ensuring the guest experience was positive. You really couldn't ask for anything more!

Had a great stay at the 1824 house! My partner and I made the trip up for a few nights, we stayed in the Caledonia room which was great to have french doors that gave an incredible view to the grounds and private patio. The room was nicely updated and warm and cozy. The owners were kind and welcoming, and went above and beyond for us when we were in need and didn't bat an eye. It was nice to have a home cooked breakfast in the dining room each morning.

We will stay again when we are in the area!

We had the best time here! Sean and Farrell instantly make you feel right at home. The room was cozy and updated, it was perfect for us. I am not a big breakfast person but I looked forward to their breakfast every morning. The pancakes and eggs Benedict are both amazing. One of the best parts though is their dogs! They are the sweetest, we gave them lots of pets and cuddles while we were there. I would most definitely stay here again! Thank you Sean and Farrell!

Our stay at the bed and breakfast was lovely! The hosts were so welcoming and accommodating— we felt very comfortable. The room was immaculate and the linens were fluffy and soft. The breakfast was the best part— fresh and tasty with a friendly smile from the hosts. The shower was a little tight for my 6’2” husband (we were in the Chittenden room) so if you are coming with someone taller I would recommend choosing another room. The location was quiet and picturesque countryside. Would definitely stay again if in the area!

Sean and Farrell have created the ultimate Vermont experience. The house is beautiful; cozy yet airy. There are hiking paths (or in my case, walking paths) both across the street by the Mad River and past the barn and outdoor event space in the back. The hosts are so communicative and accommodating, and our breakfasts were delicious. We slept very well in the Orleans room, but because it's an authentic old house, the bathroom has a crazy slanted ceiling over the tub; still a fine shower space with a skylight. I would love to come back in the fall and/or winter for a longer stay.
