I know not to expect much at airport restaurants. This PF Chang location at Reagan Airport was no exception. I ordered 2 pork egg rolls, that were bland, overcooked and a bit dried out. They were out of the Singapore Street Noodles so ordered a chicken fried rice instead. It was by far the worst fried rice I’ve ever tasted. Rice was wet and mushy and was very bland. It was basically missing all the basic ingredients of fried rice. No salt, no soy sauce, no sesame oil or any of the basic flavorings that resemble fried rice. It was a waste of $35. I’ll definitely skip this restaurant next time I’m going through DC.
While the quality and choices for dining at airports have improved, don’t expect this to be like a P.F. Chang’s elsewhere. To the staff’s credit, they did try to be on top of a very busy environment, attending to diners and keeping the place very clean. The chicken and shrimp fried rice ($19.80 plus tax) was a bit too salty and the rice used was not quite cooked through (some had a grainy center).
Dropped in for a quick breakfast of a California Roll that was pretty tasty.
Decided to drop by for dinner while waiting for a rescheduled flight. Mongolian beef was in small sections, but flavorful and well balanced with the white rice. Tea pot was never refilled and I had to get up to get my own chopsticks after being forgotten. The dish says it is meant to be shared, but it isn't much more than single serving size back hone that I get for $10 instead of the $50 here. That's expected though for airport food in the nation's capitol.
