Les Cochons d'Or

I never leave reviews on restaurants, but this place was so outstanding I had to share our experience. My wife and I booked a reservation here on a whim, not expecting much, but this place delivered on every level. The food was outstanding (everything from bread baked in house, to the mains/meats prepared over a wood fired grill), the service was excellent. It was so good, we may go back for a second night during our stay at The Homestead. We travel frequently and this was as good a meal as we’ve had in New York or London. Don’t sleep on this amazing little French restaurant nestled in a quiet Virginia mountain town. Special thanks to Patrick for taking such great care of us!

Friendly staff, excellent ambiance, incredible food - we had the duck and the strip steak. The French onion soup was amazing as well. Will definitely come back.

Nice atmosphere and great service. I really enjoyed the squash soup and creme brûlée; however, my entree left a lot to be desired. This restaurant has done what many do, created one single vegan/vegetarian offering, overpriced and under imagined. The vegan mushroom ‘bay scallops’ was just some mashed potatoes topped with mushrooms and herbs. It was fine, but at $28 I just feel a bit taken advantage of.

A fantastic dinner, an incredible staff, and a much better dining experience than anywhere at the homestead! We would definitely eat here again!

Exceptional food and service. I rarely go to places twice as I like to try new places, but at the end of our dinner here I changed our plans and made reservations to come back the next night because it was so good! They had a fish special which was outstanding, the bacon muffins were perfect, and the asparagus salad is one of my favorite appetizers ever. Incredibly well balanced dishes with some fun bold flavors. Our service team was consistently friendly and they were very good guides to the menu. And all three desserts were a great way to end the meal.
