My wife and I passed through to stroll downtown mall. We saw a couple with some type of waffle and they highly recommended Iron. We decided to try it out and - wow! I had the Morning Glory and it was fantastic. I would go out of my way to experience this again.
SO DANG GOOD!!!!!!
I made a vegan one with - vegan mac n cheese, tempeh bacon, arugula, and a sweet potato hash patty
Each item was legit delicious.
Wow. Fried chicken + cheese grits + a little arugula + a little maple syrup ( it came in a separate cup and I was skeptical at first and didn't want the mess but after applying syrup I was in heaven) between two flaky pastries. Wow. Also had a simple but decadent banana nutella, and a sweet rich cannoli paffle. The mocha was great. The lavender latte was great. The price was great. The staff recommended IX park for sitting to eat, which was unique and memorable recommendation for us coming from out of town. 6 stars out of 5.
Ordered carryout twice this past weekend on my way to/from Lynchburg and both experiences were great!! The gluten free waffles are fantastic. I hope they're able to open a location in Maryland someday so I can go more often!
It was delicious! Not only were the puff pastry waffles themselves really tasty and buttery, but the fillings inside didn't disappoint either. The fried chicken tenders inside were cooked well and were juicy. I tried the cheesy grits and it was very savory. Coffee was good too. Everything was fresh, with friendly service happy to answer questions. I'll be back to try more of their flavors for sure.
