Went for dinner with my girlfriend after seeing a movie. Don't think it's all that great here... Kama's food is kinda like gentrified Japanese fusion food?

    Pros:
    - flavors are generally pretty good
    - drinks are good
    - convenient location in the violet crown theater
    - food looks really pretty if you're into that lol

    Cons:
    - pricey (tapas style)
    - udon noodles soggy as hell, if you've ever had good udon noodles this ain't it chief... broth was flavorful though
    - rice that came with the eel wasn't fresh, you could tell it's been out for a while (the eel was good though, just not the rice)
    - karaage was not the karaage I'm used to, definitely not traditional if that's what you're looking for

I don't care who makes the food as long as it tastes good, but I didn't see a single asian person in sight while dining here lol. I think next time I'll come back just for cocktails and some drinking food, otherwise it's just gentrified, expensive, non-traditional Japanese food

Excellent sashimi and cocktails!! I can't stress enough the quality of the food and five star service. It's our new regular place. Photos speak for themselves.

Truly great Modern Japanese food. Sushi was crafted and presented beautifully. True 'otoro' was offered and prepared expertly with a nice light sear.

Pork Belly with scallops were cooked to perfection. Eel dish rivals the best restaurants in Japan.

The only thing better than the food was the front staff that was not only attentive to my wife and I, but also paid just as much attention to my 8mo daughter.

Great reprieve from the sea of 'Modern American' and 'Southern Comfort' restaurants that dominate the area (although they are super tasty too).

PS this is not a full sushi restaurant so don't expect list after list of sushi options. They have a small but excellent selection of sashimi.
