Just rolled into town for the night, and asked the concierge at Home2 Suites for a recommendation for takeout. Maya was the first name she mentioned, and oh was she right on! I got the hanger steak with Mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts, and my wife got the trout with sprouts and mashed potatoes.
I am pretty fussy about my steak, often finding that restaurants overcook it and put so much stuff on it I can’t taste the meat. This was the opposite of that; Perfectly cooked to medium rare, with just enough salt and pepper to enhance the flavor. The trout was also exceptional, such a surprise with takeout. My Mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts were a nice balance, and she enjoyed her sides as well.
The guy I ordered from was also really helpful, making the entire experience easy.
As someone who considers myself a foodie, I really enjoyed Maya, even if from a distance. I can’t Wait for the opportunity to come back to town and enjoy a meal at the restaurant!
Nice patio, good service. Wouldn't recommend the fried chicken but everything else we ate was good. Good sized portions, not too big not too small. Overall good experience.
Phenomenal refined southern fare. Delicious cocktails, ribs were out of this world fall off the bone. The cornmeal dusted quail and whipped potatoes were excellent!!
Very good and nice atmosphere! The waitress made the difference here she was on top of her game. Expensive but just enough to keep a crowd. Great date place just get her a salad lol
Decent outdoor dining during COVID where reservations are generally required and a steady flow of people during dinner hours keep servers busy. The bar serves good cocktails, their specialties seemed to lean towards gin and vodka but they will make whatever you want. Of note were the ribs, collards and cheese biscuits and the trout. I recommend Maya if you're in the mood for a Southern inspired meal. Save room for the Key Lime pie.
