Public Fish & Oyster

We celebrated my fiance's birthday here last night and couldn't have had a better experience. I felt bad, because we had reserved an outdoor heated patio area for six people. When we got there, even with the heaters, it was a little chilly (38 degrees outside), so we asked to move inside. The staff was so accommodating and flexible with this request!

The food was incredible! We enjoyed raw oysters, fried oysters, clam chowder, lobster rolls, crab cakes, and fried shrimp. Everything was great. Even their Belgian fries are absurdly delicious!

Ros (sp?) was our server, and she was one of the most cheerful, kind, and helpful servers I think I've ever had in my entire life.

John and his team are always going above and beyond to provide such great service. The kind of treatment you get here is amazing! Not to mention the Chef's in the back do a fantastic job in providing such good food. 10 out of 10 experience every single time Highly recommended.

Go for Happy Hour and get the hot buttered lobster roll with a generous helping of the most scrumptious fries. Their drinks are always fantastic. We love how competent, knowledgeable, and charming all the staff are.

The offerings (oysters, other shell fish, etc) are invariably fresh. Preparations are subtle and effective to allow the fish flavor to come across with drowning it in sauces that are too strong. Service is appropriately attentive without hovering. During the pandemic the staff are very careful and practice all the recommended methods for safety.

Delightful birthday dinner. The Oysters were superb & trust me you should order the wine poached pear. John was our excellent server/bartender & gave great recommendations.
