Hwy 55 Burgers Shakes & Fries

My experience: it was a hot Sunday night around 8 p.m. (still 92+). This was my first visit ever to this chain and all I wanted was a simple burger and fries (I had recently saw a post somewhere that they served crinkle cut fries and I was looking forward to that part in particular). The place itself is cute, very 50s retro (this accounts for most of my stars on rating). Upon entering the restuarant we noticed about no change in temperature. It was literally just as hot in this place as it was outside. The server came to table and gave us menus and took our drink order then left. I might be exaggerating a little here, but close to 5 minutes had past for him to come back with 2 cups of water. Oh, did I mention we were the only customers? He finally brought the water and took our order. We ordered 2 burgers, 2 fries, and 2 sodas....and BTW they don't serve crinkle cut fries. Disappointed. The food arrived quicker than the water did. It was freshly cooked to order. The fries were ok, but I've definitely had better. There were a total of 3 people working in the restaurant (server, another girl (not sure her function), and cook. I asked why it was so hot in the store and the server gave some reason about the soda machine or something, but bottom line is I don't think he really knew. I feel bad for these employees to work in such warm conditions, especially when its 98 outside this time of year. When the check arrived the amount was about 16 dollars. So, the conclusion to this story for my experience is: hot and uncomfortable atmosphere in which to enjoy their food, inattentive service at least busiest time, and premium prices. Good of the place? Decor and quality of burger. Would I go back? Maybe if they fixed their AC.

Fantastic food every time. You cant beat Hwy 55. Clean table, clean floor and delicious food! Our waitress Ashley was the best. Very nice and pleasant to talk with. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Food was delicious, but the restaurant was incredibly unclean. The table was sticky, the menus had old dressing on them, and there were dead bugs (many) in the window sill. As stated before, though, the food was top notch for an in and out joint. Really good cheese steak, solid chocolate banana shake, and we'll cooked fries!

Honestly the best place to swing by and grab a bite to eat. I had a Johnny boy and Billy with some tots and a root beer. The waitress was nice and attentive and the custard is the best around!

The best milkshakes anywhere, that’s all I have to say about that.

The Sub I got was really good, it was portioned just right and the bread was nice and soft, it wasn’t cooked with the meat like other places, a bit pricy but not substantially so.

The fries were good, not great but good.

It didn’t take too long to get the order either, and everyone was nice and welcoming.
