Delicious food and excellent service. I look forward to going back!
I brought a friend here to try Ethiopian food for his first time. We arrived late evening on a weekday, so it was a very quiet and pleasant experience. There were 3 women in the restaurant who all received us with warm hospitality.
I immediately felt at ease when one woman approached the table and allowed me to order my regular without needing to shove menus in our hands, as some places would do and leave you feeling like an outsider looking in.
I requested to have my veggie combo cooked vegan and without added salt, and it all turned out perfectly (as I end up salting it anyways through the spicy mitmita powder and awaze sauce). My friend had tibs and kitfo - both which were seasoned perfectly and the tibs came with bright yellow, green, and red slices of bell pepper which added nicely to its presentation. The food looked and tasted fresh. The cookware and dining area looked and felt clean. Also, just the sheer fact that it’s just women working there indicates an overall higher standard of cleanliness (have background in the restaurant industry).
We felt like they were motherly to us and helped teach us Amharic phrases. They offered us Ethiopian coffee, made fresh in front of us, where one of the women even brought over the beans roasting in her handheld pot to our table to see and smell the fresh aroma. There was incense (ዕጣን or “etan”) burning while the coffee was roasting, which added to the experience of feeling as if I was sitting in a cafe in Ethiopia, and not just an Ethiopian/Arab enclave of Virginia.
Lovely experience with lovely women. አመሰግናለሁ. I will definitely make the trek out here from the District to introduce anyone else to Ethiopian food.
Thank you for a memorable dinner, from Korea and Israel. Congratulations on the grand opening of your restaurant just 4 months ago!
We had great dinner night at Aron - Medium well steak tips, lamb soup and tomato salad. Tasty and yummy!! Some refreshment liquor drinks help our mood smooth over!
I love this restaurant! It was really authentic and deserves 5 stars! The food is also so good! I recommend eating here. This is one of the best restaurants I have had!
We had the house Tips and Kitfo. Amazing food and service.
