Kariju (Japanese fried chicken)

You won't be disappointed! The drumsticks are seasoned well, and so juicy. Try the seaweed salad to round out your meal.

Fry on the chicken was crunchy but had very little flavor. Nuggets are dark meat. Legs need to be cooked much longer. The legs are very juicy but need to be cooked long enough that the fat/ligaments are. cooked down, would make it more pleasant. All sauces extra and no ketchup even. My 3 star rating was just because it lacked flavor but moreso because they don't cook the chicken long enough, biting into the legs should just be juicy meat not pouring out juices with fat not cooked down. Also very very expensive for 12 dark meat nuggets, 4 legs and 6 wings it's nearly $32 not including sauces.

So delicious!!!! We got the drumsticks and nuggets. After a long day of getting our rental home ready we wanted something good! My daughter suggested this place and gave it a try and we will definitely be going back.

I'm gonna start with I want this place to thrive. I want Kariju to be a success story.

With chicken this unbelievably fantastic, this restaurant is poised to be a Falls Church icon for years to come. But as it is right now, March '22, it appears to be in a terrible rut. Product consistency aside the karaage is hit or miss. Kitchen seems to be wholly unprepared to properly deal with larger orders. I genuinely hope they find a way to smooth out their operation.

Truly looking forward to giving another try.

As someone who has spent a lot of time in Japan and at izakaya across the country, I can say with confidence that this absolutely amazing food. It's the perfect food for drinking or just a meal and it's cooked to perfection. The food comes so quick after you order and yet tastes incredibly fresh. Its the perfect balance between a crunchy exterior and soft meat. Have already recommended this to everyone I know.
