Tatte Bakery & Cafe | Reston

This Parisian themed breakfast/ lunch restaurant/bakery has a quirky ordering system, but once you figure it out and get used to it, the line you have to stand in to place your order goes pretty quickly, even during breakfast rush hour. The breakfast food among the 6 of us got an “average” rating, nothing to write home about! The bottle neck created by the line and the quirky ordering system is very uncomfortable to navigate, and even stretches into the dining area, with people in line bumping up against your chair while you’re eating. The prices for a breakfast plate were high, but the real price gouging is in the bakery items, absolutely ridiculous and greedy. I won’t be going back for these reasons.

Ordered the Braised Short Rib & Eggplant Couscous Bowl. Great flavors but way way tooooo salty!! Took a couple stars off of service and atmosphere because we had to clean our own table before sitting despite staff just standing around. Even the tables around us were left uncleaned during the entire time that we were there. They could definitely do better in that area.

I ordered a matcha latte and a salmon breakfast sandwich, which was really good! The service was great and I quickly got my food after ordering. The atmosphere is also very cute and relaxing, I’d definitely come back to try the pastries next time😁

I tried this Cafe for the first time on 3/12/24. I was in the area, so I stopped by for a coffee. I ended up getting the TATTE HOUSE
LATTE(iced). It was different from what I usually get at coffee shops, but still really good. I did not try pastries or other food, but it all looked good. Next time I am in the area, I will try some food and report back, but until then, I say this is a must-try if you visit or live in the area.

I’m so glad Tatte is finally open! I’ve been to the Clarendon location a couple of times, but this location is much closer to home so I’m sure I’ll be frequenting it a lot more.

It’s in a prime location - right next to Ben & Jerry’s, on Market St next to the Fountain Square Plaza. There’s ample seating both inside and outside, which is great since I’m sure it’ll be busy.

Today I came with my husband and we ordered a hot chocolate, short rib grilled cheese, oatmeal & walnut cookie, and chocolate chip cookie. The hot chocolate was nice and very rich. The short rib grilled cheese was less grilled cheese and more like a sandwich with cheese on it, but we didn’t mind. It was amazing, but we only wish the cheese was a bit more melted. The cookies were also really good, not the best we’ve had but still good. Not overly sweet which we appreciate.

Can’t wait to come back! Definitely love Tatte and can’t wait for it to be a staple at RTC.
