River Bend Bistro & Wine Bar

The food is fine. I had oyster pot pie and my wife a ham and cheese souffle. Both were quite good. The place itself is pretty noisy because they took out the carpeting be and left bare concrete floors. If you go for Sunday brunch, avoid the eggs Benedict. Last time we had them we couldn't cut the English muffins with a knife.

This dining experience was a pleasant surprise. The bistro is tucked away in a strip mall, but yet has a romantic and comfortable feel on entry. The staff is warm hearted, friendly and very knowledgeable of all the offerings. I starting with sweet potato and ham biscuits, then had the pork medallions and grits for dinner, ending with apple cobbler and vanilla ice cream. Everything was amazingly prepared and flavorful without over doing any of the seasonings. Some how I found my anticipation growing with each selection, to include cocktails. The only shortfall was in the presentation. But, any disappointment in presentation faded on first bite. This stop is well worth the journey and is on my short list to visit again in the future.

The omelette with mushrooms was very creamy. Wine selection was impressive.

Excellent neighborhood bistro. Food very good, ambience pleasant if a bit loud. Service attentive, not overbearing. A little pricey for a strip mall.

We are first-time here for last minute. So, I ordered grilled chicken (good) with mushroom & cream and he ordered the grilled duck breast (very good) with veggies. They're delicious, really. Big plus side of hot spinach salad is very good, oh yeah. The waiter is nice. He must be a shy young man. Several customers are here, cool. The restroom is cleaned as well. Also strawberry with shortcake is good but not the shortcake itself.
