this place is very popular and has always been a good experience until recently when they started changing some of the items on their menu. the favorite is the hash browns which is usually crispy but their new sausage is something that's not even palatable. We complained about it when we are there and they replaced it with bacon but that can't be a cost-effective solution. In the past this place has been in the Local Top 20 but here recently until they make some changes to heighten their quality they would not make it there.
Folks who search in Google for this spot before visiting should know that while the food is perfectly adequate here, it's unreasonably expensive. That OPH even stays in business is a testament to the excess wealth in this area, well, and the dearth of good breakfast spots. I would guesstimate its prices as close to twice as much as Denny's down the road in Fairfax, but the food is not twice as good.
This restaurant is a delight. I had the Irish omelette...oh my how huge this omelette was. It was definitely amazing and tasty, I recommend it to any whom loves a good corned beef hash. Service here was pleasant and the wait in a Sunday morning wasn't bad at all, I'll finely be going back at some point.
So so so yummy!!!! Coming again tomorrow while I'm here visiting to try something else. I had Ellen's Avocado with a side of bacon. They use the good bacon! Lol Nice and thick.
We have had consistently excellent food at The Original Pancake House. My favorite is the vegetarian omelet with cheddar. They whip the egg whites to make it very light and fluffy. It is enormous and comes with a side of pancakes. Definitely a meal to share.
My son loves their gluten-free pancakes. They always come on a square glass plate to differentiate them from standard pancakes. You can also choose to order a half-order or substitute them for the regular pancakes in one of their combo plates.
Expect a wait on the weekend mornings. Prices are not cheap, but portions are very generous.
