Ornery Beer Company & Public House

I love the beer and I love the food. BUT, the last 3 times we’ve been here our food and drinks took forever. We had a reservation at 7pm and finally got sat at 7:40. After an hour, our food came out. Bottom line, servers are super nice and the kitchen is horribly slow and may be the downfall of this place.

Just visited for lunch today, great daily special: burger and a beer for $10. Beer is great, especially the I.P.A. Burger was tasty and server was very friendly. Great addition to Fairfax, can’t wait to go back.

Never disappointed

I can’t say enough good about this place. With many choices in Northern Virginia for good craft beer, Ornery takes it up a level. Not only do they have a great selection of craft beer, but they also offer an extended bar with cocktails and wine. Their food menu is on another level as well. Tonight I ordered jagerschnitzel, which is a gigantic pork chop that is breaded and fried on top of mashed potatoes and covered with mushroom and bacon gravy. It was the best meal I had all month. The portion was generous, flavor was fabulous and it came out hot. I may have to order a smaller dish next time so I have room for dessert. I saw some bread pudding come out served with ice cream that looked wonderful. I’ll have to order that first next time I come.

A new restaurant in the area that we tried on a whim. We were pleasantly surprised. My meal was cooked to perfection and reasonably priced. The service—specifically the cooking—was slow but the waiter was very apologetic and helpful. Great beer menu.
