We’ve stopped in a few times, what a great addition to downtown Fairfax! The food is always scrumptious, our favorites are the bang bang shrimp, the Nashville chicken sandwich and the smash burger. The cocktails are made with the freshest ingredients and are always on point. Our favorites are the bees knees and the old fashioned. Mackenzie’s is not to be missed if you’re looking for delicious food and excellent drinks in Fairfax!
The food is exceptionally well done. The dishes are largley comfort food in nature and so much care is put into every plate. When we asked for a burger to be without tomato for allergy reasons, the fries were served without ketchup. That attention to detail is so considerate and reflective of a kitchen that really knows what it's doing. The regular live music is also a treat. 5 stars well earned.
We had an OldFashioned and the Mac n Cheese. The Old Fashion was a bit extra sweet, how I like it. The Mac n Cheese was unexpectedly delightfully zippy and had chicken on it and lots of cheese. The bar keep was very friendly, the music was flowing.
I felt like we found a hidden gem
The food was sooooooo good. The flavor and presentation was outstanding. Everything tasted homemade and I really enjoyed my crafted cocktails. I had a strawberry margarita with real strawberries. The green tea shot was yummy. Did a bday celebration. Everyone loved the food and we tried just about everything. Staff was friendly and prompt! Highly recommend. Plenty of parking!
We went to this restaurant last weekend. The owner and staff are friendly. A few comments are listed below.
1. Crispy Brussels sprouts tasted good but a bit too greasy to my personal taste.
2. Fried chicken sandwich - the chicken was a bit dry.
3. Too few options on the menu.
Overall, I would give 3.5 stars. We will come back again if they have new dishes on the menu. (Forgot to take pictures of other dishes we ordered.)
