“Service was polite and friendly. The food was delicious! There wasn't a dish we didn't like. The small plate style menu made it convenient to try a variety of different dishes. Last time I had authentic lamb skewers like these was years ago while living in South Korea. They were char-grilled and seasoned perfectly with cumin and red pepper. They came with a dry spice to dip them in -- the proper way to eat them. The double-cooked pork slices were perfect -- less sour and more sweet than it's typically served. But, they were nice and crisply fried, with plenty of chewy glutinous rice coating. The hot and sour noodles were really nice -- spicy, lots of garlic, lots of Chinese peppercorns (love the numbing, tingly feeling), and plenty of cilantro. The eggplant was also really nice. The seasoning was perfect -- a slightly spicy, garlicky topping. It didn't seem barbecued as much as steamed and then seasoned, but still a really nice dish at a really nice price. We will be going back.”

“Had food from this place for the first time, I took advantage of using the vendor app which allowed me to order the food ahead of time and pay for simple pick up. The food was really good and filling, I was surprised about how many options you could choose for the price like guacamole not being extra. The food tasted healthy meaning not greasy or fattening; I had the taco shell bowl and triple threat taco both are worth ordering again. Place was really clean well stocked and great customer service.”

“Excellent, and not just for a recently opened restaurant. Some things on the menu will be immediately familiar to those who have eaten at Peter Chang's such as the scallion pancake or the dry-fried cauliflower (eggplant at the original). The food comes quickly from the kitchen and is just as good, if not better, than the food being served at Peter Chang's in Arlington. Mama Chang's menu seems more varied. Fans of "hot and numbing" dishes will have lots of options, but dishes featuring fermented flavors and ingredients are also available here. The addition of small plates and the somewhat smaller appetizer portions is a smart addition. It's friendly to those eating out on a budget or for a quick bite, and makes sharing dishes easier. Even some of the dishes that don't jump out on the menu, like the farmer's stir fry, are subtle and surprisingly flavorful. The space is open, modern, and cheerful. The service was attentive. Overall, different enough to Peter Chang's that it's definitely worth visiting. And for me it edges out the Arlington Peter Chang's for availability of small plates, more attentive service, and a wider variety of dishes.”

“I was really excited to see a new Poke place opening in Fairfax. No longer do I need to drive 30 minutes to McLean to get my Poke-fix! I'm really optimistic about this place, they've only been open 10 days and I think they have a lot of potential. A major difference from competitors I noticed is that their fish starts out completely plain, and is then mixed with a sauce mixture of your choice on-the-spot. This resulted in the fish tasting a little bland. My usual Poke spot marinates their fish all day which is something I'd love to see PokeHub do. You guys will get 5 stars if you can marinate! And I'd love to see a spicy mayo sauce option! Great location, clean and bright store with friendly employees. Definitely try it out!”
