Bet gluten free bakery in the north east, or just generally in the US. Emma is a master of her craft, and it shows in her food. The crepes are mouthwateringly good. We come here every weekend we are in town. The calvados is our favorite! The turkey, egg, and cheese is our go to for breakfast or brunch.
My wife (who is gluten free) and I (non-GF) came here for breakfast after some friends bought her a GF cake from the store. The food was delicious and fresh and the staff were friendly and quick. We had to wait a short time for a table on Saturday at noon, which speaks to the quality and accessibility of their menu. Overall, I'd recommend this for anyone looking for tasty food, regardless of your dietary restrictions.
Delicious crepes, pastries, coffee, and good selection of teas at reasonable prices. I have to eat gluten free and missed out on so many tasty things for years. Now that I’ve found this lovely popular spot I can once again enjoy delicate pastries. The apricot almond petit four was scrumptious. The tea is served in a pot so I can have it as strong as I want. We’ll definitely be back to try the pot pies, quiche, sweet crepes, and other pastries including cupcakes! Service was friendly and fast. Easy street parking.
Anyone who has tried gluten free baking knows it isn't easy. It is so lucky to have The Happy Tart nearby. The entire restaurant is gluten free with delicious pastries and entrees. We have taken cupcakes from here to many parties and they are always greatly enjoyed.
Try the mushroom crepe. It is sensational!
I can't say enough good things about this place and I've only been once. We had brunch here a few Sunday's ago and the food was AMAZING! We ordered the biscuits and gravy, french toast, the quiche, an assortment of cupcakes and a pecan tart. Everything was awesome.
The fact that this food is Gluten Free is just...WOW. I don't have a gluten allergy but, I went gluten free because I contracted Lyme a few years back. Changing my diet has led to less flair ups. Most places have items on the menu that are gluten free but, there's no place I've ever been where you can sit down without thinking about restrictions and have an amazing meal.
I have NO idea how long it took to develop these recipes but, I would give the owner a kiss on the cheek and a hug for taking the time to come up with this menu. There's no gluten free bread/cake/pastry that has EVER lived up to the taste of the real thing, till now. We ended up ordering my youngest Son's birthday cake from here a week later and I plan on eating here a much as I can. Not just to have a great meal but, to also show my support.
Also, I think our server's name was Chuck/Charles...? The service was as good as the food.
Well done, all around.
Update: I've been here like 15 times now and my opinion hasn't changed at all. In fact, after going to a few other gluten free shops, I appreciate this one that much more.
